Beacon Security’s new website is now live and online here.
This is another superb piece of design work by Door 22 Creative who provided me with a hierarchical site map, layered Photoshop design files (psd files) and all the text content. Door 22 and I had to work hard to meet the deadline for getting this new site online as requirements were changing right up until the day that the site went live.
Using all the provided designs and content I followed the following project tasks to develop the website :
- Constructed a staging site for development and testing
- Sliced the graphics of the Photoshop files and built cross browser xhtml/css templates
- Used jQuery Javascript framework to create image rotation and correct a few cross browser problems
- Converted the xhtml/css templates into a WordPress theme
- Added PHP code to the WordPress theme and plugins to the WordPress installation to for-fill the functional requirements
- Constructed all the pages and posts
- Conducted site testing
- Implemented the new site on the live virtual server
So the website is using WordPress as a CMS (Content Management System) which enables a user to edit page content and create new case studies just by logging into the WordPress interface.
